In my opinion the best decade of music is from the 80s. Think of it – the 80s combine a social conscience with great bands, appearing at Band Aid/USA For Africa/Live Aid/Sir Bob to name just a few. MTV was born in the 80s, as was a slew of great movies that used terrific tunes from that era to underscore it’s storyline. ‘Footloose’, ‘Top Gun’, and ‘The Breakfast Club’ all feature the day’s top songs.
The 80s also served as the platform for the second British Invasion, and plenty of women singers and bands strutted their stuff. My Top Five 80s Songs? 1.) Beat It – Michael Jackson 2.) Danger Zone – Kenny Loggins, 3.) Purple Rain – Prince – 2.) Don’t Stop Believing – Journey, and 1.) Livin’ On a Prayer by Bon Jovi. Stop by (local reference) and check out the vinyl they have on sale since it’s making a comeback.
